How Hoodia and Modified Carb Diet Worked for Me

By: alyssa collins 7-17-2007 As a long-term dieter who has failed miserably so many times in the past in reaching my weight loss goals, I have found MY solution.

6 years ago, at 5'6 and 230 pounds (and female) I realized I needed a real weight loss system that would reasonably integrate into my lifestyle.

The diet I chose really wasn't a diet in the typical sense. No short term, insane deadline meeting or crash or starvation methods for me. They work all too well for a few days or a week or two but soon I'd jump off the program and back into self-destructive gorging.

So what worked for me?

First knowing deep down I needed to do this and that only a mature, sane, steady methodical method would work.

Basically, by mixing the South Beach diet supplemented with Hoodia, ( specifically, I used Desert Burn , 1000mg capsules and highly recomend this hoodia.) I lost over 70 pounds in 9 months. Painlessly and with no cravings.

Basically the modified carbohydrate system (South Beach Diet) actually CHANGED my relationship with food. I included hoodia (on my own) as an appetite suppressant that sort of "sealed the deal" by destroying any food cravings during the critical 2-week intro stage of the South Beach Diet.

That first two weeks was supposed to be the hardest part of the diet because you basically "wean" off of "bad" carbs in hope of recalibrating blood chemistries - minimizing BIG swings in blood sugar levels is the key to appetite control. The hoodia, which has no side effects, made this part a breeze.

Without going into detail about the South Beach Diet, I will say this; It's a fantastic and healthy approach to eating. It taught me the difference between GOOD and BAD carbs and fats. There's no complicated calorie counting and you can eat MANY foods you like while following the South Beach Diet. You certainly won't starve.

Adding the hoodia I truly believe helped me lose faster and keeps me losing weight when I do deviate too much from the diet, which I have a bit from time to time. Taking hoodia kills any appetite surge that may occur while " getting back on track" with the South Beach, modified carbohydrate diet.

Losing a lot of weight SHOULD take time but needn't be PAINFUL or full of cravings and misery. Quick diets never really work LONG TERM.

If diets frustrate you why not try this hoodia and modified carbohydrate weight loss approach? It was like a one two punch that knocked out my appetite while my body slowly readjusted to eating only HEALTHY food. It works great and I'm still on the diet, without consciously reminding myself that I'm on a weight loss program - it's a way of life.
