- Nordic Track C2155 Treadmill - This is a discount treadmill with nice features but definitely not for hardcore runners. With a list price of $1199 they obviously focused on a designing a multi feature treadmill rather than spending money on heavy construction. Don't get us wrong, this is not a bad machine, just one with lots of bells and whistles - if you are a serious walker this is a fantastic choice! It does feature the flexible iFIT® technology which stores your personal settings - controling speed, incline and duration of your workout - nice for monitoring your progress. It also has a DuraSoft™ III - which reduces stress on joints by 26% to 33% compared to outside running. All in all a great machine for speed walking and light jogging. Great deals on this machine are available as it is usually discounted by $600 - quite a bargain.

Horsepower rating of 1.75-2 HP is the minimum power rating we feel for medium duty machines. Despite this it has a weight capacity of about 275lbs. ( although that would be pushing it for this machine). Other features include: Deck AirSoft™ Impact Reducing Cushioning and Heart Rate Monitor Dual-Grip Precision Response™ Heart Rate Monitor . For about the same price there are many other units available with more power and better warranties.

But if a good 45 minute cardio speed-walk in the dead of winter is what you want this machine is perfect. Other features include built in sound system, 10 preset of decent workouts varying speed, incline and duration, nice console plus DuraSoft Advanced Cushioning . Looking for a good cardio workout in the dead of winter? Hey... that's why most of us commit to working out using a treadmill, right?
Keep in mind most treadmills below $1000 are built primarily for light jogging or serious speed walking - serious ground pounding runners will need a more heavy duty treadmill.
Remember...much of what you are paying for on many of these discount treadmills are bells and whistles. Nice...but ask yourself... will you need these features? Multi-set cooling fans, ipod docking station, 5-10-15 preset workout programs, custom workout center software - extravagant consoles - you'll be so distracted you may not have time to work out...
Keep it simple - remember what's really important and don't get sidetracked - construction, motor capacity and warranty! That's what makes a solid dependable machine worth buying.
